How It Works

The file is sent to our server and converted to PDF. This usually takes a few seconds.
The PDF is sent back to your browser for download. The uploaded file and the generated PDF are deleted from the server immediately.
Privacy and Security
Unlike most browser-side tools on Convertizer, Word to PDF conversion requires server processing. Here's how your file is handled:
- Your file is uploaded over HTTPS (encrypted in transit).
- Conversion happens in an isolated temporary directory.
- Both the uploaded file and the output PDF are deleted immediately after conversion.
- No files are logged, stored, or shared with third parties.
- Rate limiting prevents abuse (10 conversions per 5 minutes per IP).
FAQ
Will the formatting be preserved?
Most Word formatting is preserved well, including tables, images, headers, and basic styles. Complex layouts with advanced features may render slightly differently.
Why does it need to upload my file?
Converting Word documents accurately requires a full document rendering engine that can't run in a browser. For a browser-only alternative, try Word to HTML.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, 20 MB. Most Word documents are well under this limit.
